School Wellness Program Guidelines

1. Vision & Purpose

The SRVS Group of Educational Institutions is committed to fostering a holistic, healthy, and supportive environment. Our School Wellness Program aims to nurture the physical health, mental well-being, emotional resilience, and overall life quality of our students, faculty, and administrative staff.

3. Operational Guidelines for Implementation

A. Student-Centric Initiatives

  • Daily Movement & Physical Activity:
    • Minimum of 5-10 minutes of  physical activity through scheduled PE classes, sports leagues, or active recess.
    • Integration of 5-minute movement or stretching breaks between long academic blocks.
  • Mental Health & Emotional Learning (SEL):
    • Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) sessions integrated into the curriculum covering topics like empathy, stress management, and self-awareness.
    • Quiet/Reflection spaces designated across campus for emotional regulation when needed.
  • Healthy Eating Practices:
    • School cafeteria/canteen guidelines prohibiting high-sugar, ultra-processed foods and promoting balanced, nutrient-dense meals.
    • Clean, accessible drinking water stations across all campus buildings.
    • "Fruit & Hydration" breaks scheduled during school hours.

B. Faculty & Staff Wellness

  • Workplace Balance & Ergonomics:
    • Encouraging manageable workloads with clear boundaries on after-hours communication.
    • Ergonomic seating and workspace assessments for teaching staff and administrative units.
  • Staff Health Support:
    • Annual health check-ups and wellness screenings provided on campus.
    • Periodic stress-management workshops, mindfulness sessions, and team-building retreats.

C. Environment & Campus Safety

  • Safe & Inclusive Culture:
    • Zero-tolerance policy for bullying, harassment, or discrimination.
    • Clear, transparent reporting channels for student or staff safety concerns.
  • Green & Clean Campus:
    • Maintenance of green spaces for outdoor learning and relaxation.
    • Air-quality checks and clean sanitation facilities maintained continuously.

4. Roles & Responsibilities

Teachers & StaffLead by example, model healthy behaviors, and actively identify/support students in need.
Parents & GuardiansPartner with the school by reinforcing healthy habits, sleep routines, and open communication at home.

5. Review & Continuous Improvement

  • Conduct biannual feedback surveys among students, parents, and staff to evaluate the effectiveness of the wellness program.
  • Continuously update guidelines based on new educational standards and school community feedback.
